In neighboring Coffee County, the man suspected of murdering a Tullahoma nursing student made his first court appearance there on Monday. But the hearing for Donnie Frank Jones was not for the murder case, but on a weapons charge.

Franklin County Sheriff Tim Fuller called the 37-year old man a suspect in the murder of 24-year old Megan Sharpton. Her burned body was found on the side of the road this past July (2012).

The victim's mother went to the courtroom to observe the proceedings and was happy when Jones' bail was set at a half-million dollars.
