Dan Whittle photo exhibit at Arts Center of Cannon County
May 25-June 30, 2012 Dan Whittle's photo art is on display at the Arts Center of Cannon County (1424 John Bragg Highway in neighboring Woodbury). Admission is free to the Marly Berger Gallery. This well known journalist-photographer-author has creative nature photos and captures life in action through the lens of his camera. Middle Half Marathon
Sat. (Oct. 13, 2012) 7AM 6th Annual Middle Half Marathon and Murph's Fun Run. The 13.1-mile course starts and stops at MTSU's Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium and the course is around the beautiful flat and tree-lined Murfreesboro historic district. The Murfreesboro Half Marathon course has been certified as accurate in measurement according to the standards adopted by the USATF Road Running Technical Council. Nikki Giovanni: "Life in the Bottoms"

"Life In The Bottoms" is the final part of MTSU's 2012 local history series. The evening begins with a barbecue dinner at 5:30PM. Then at 6:30PM oral history reports from the field school will be presented. Collections for Tornado Victims Expanded Locations Saturday

Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office’s Explorer Post 106 will collect non perishable food and canned goods, batteries, diapers, water and toiletries for residents of Center Point, Ala., and Jefferson County, Ala.

People may drop off donations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Rutherford County Courthouse in downtown Murfreesboro and Sam’s Club on John Rice Boulevard. Also, Explorers will collect the goods from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office lobby at 940 New Salem Highway. Donations will be accepted at the sheriff’s office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday until Feb. 3.

Explorers will deliver the collected items to the Explorer Post Feb. 4 to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, said Cpl.
