Congressman Scott DesJarlais, M.D. (TN-04) released the following statement after the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted 19-0 to approve the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015, which requires congressional review of any final agreement with Iran:

"I applaud Senator Corker for leading this effort to ensure Congress plays its constitutional role in reviewing any deal the White House reaches with the government of Iran. Our allies in the region have expressed legitimate concerns over lifting sanctions in a way that would allow Iran to achieve nuclear weapons. This bi-partisan legislation ensures that the American people have an opportunity to prevent our nation from entering into a deal that could jeopardize our own national security interests."
