Connie Rigsby Is New Director of St. Clair Street Senior Center

The City of Murfreesboro announced today that Connie Rigsby has agreed to become the new Director of the St. Clair Street Senior Center.  Rigsby begins her service to the Center and its participants on March 24, 2014.

Prior to this new position, Rigsby has been Director of the Cannon County Senior Center for the past twelve years.   Under her leadership, the Cannon County facility has been recognized as one of the most active centers in the state.

Rigsby commented, “I look forward to working with one of the best Senior Centers in the State and continuing to provide quality programs and services. I am excited to build on the foundation set at St. Clair Street to make current and future programs more comprehensive and to reach out to all seniors."

She has served as president of the Tennessee Federation for the Aging and the Tennessee Association of Senior Centers.  She is a member of the National Institute for Senior Centers.  Locally, she is a board member at Stones River Hospital, vice-president of the University of Tennessee Advisory Board, the Cannon County Chamber of Commerce and Woodbury Lions Club.

Murfreesboro City Manager Rob Lyons said, “Connie is innovative in her approach and committed to the senior population.  Her energy and leadership skills will be of value both to St. Clair, but also to the City’s management and future direction.”

A reception to introduce Connie Rigsby to the community will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 Friday afternoon, March 28 it the main dining hall of the St. Clair Street Senior Center located at 325 St. Clair Street.
