Construction Accident in Nashville Claims the Life of a Smyrna Man

A Smyrna man died after a construction related accident in Nashville on Wednesday morning.

Metro Nashville Police say the preliminary investigation into the death of a Smyrna man who fell three stories during construction of a new house at 632 Belle Park Circle shows it to be accidental.

Leonardo Salazar, 38, was working on the third floor drywall when he fell into an elevator shaft. There was no evidence of foul play. The Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration also sent representatives to the scene.

The Medical Examiner will further determine the cause of death.
