Copper Theft Cost More Than Cost of Copper in Murfreesboro

Copper is still a hot commodity for thieves in the area. WGNS has confirmed that over $5,000 worth of copper was stolen from a construction site on Conference Center Boulevard in Murfreesboro. The copper was inside the hotel that is under construction. The theft report shows that the copper was ripped from the walls. This is the second time such a theft has occurred at the same address. The question now is... who is stealing the copper?

The contractor that reported the theft told police the labor to install the copper cost about 4-Grand. If you factor that into the total theft cost, it comes to over $9,000. The felony theft could land someone in jail for a considerable amount of time once someone is caught and convicted.
