Council's First Meeting of 2014 Includes Move Forward on Election Date Change

The first meeting of the year for the Murfreesboro City Council was brief yet productive.  The Water & Sewer Department purchased a new crane truck, meter reading truck, and 4-wheel drive vehicle. Many land zonings and annexations were heard during the first meeting of the new year and were voted through again on second and third readings.

As you may have heard, there has been talk of moving the municipal election date. The council opted to leave that decision to the voters and the matter will be put to a referendum in the near future.  

Demolition and construction are soon set to begin at Old Fort Park, including new tennis facilities… Parks Director Lanny Goodwin stated...



Finally, it seems as though Mayor Bragg has recently celebrated a birthday. The topic was brought to light on WGNS earlier in the week and then spotlighted by Councilman Eddie Smotherman on Thursday...
