Two 2,500 gallon water tanks are being purchased by the Rutherford County Fire Department to be better prepared for rural fires. Two trucks are being donated by the solid waste department for the tanks to be mounted to. On Thursday, County Commissioners approved the $55,000 purchase. The water tanks will allow for the county fire department to transport more water to the scene of a fire that might be needed in a rural South Rutherford County where there is less pressure in the water lines.  The new water tanks will be used in Rockvale, Christiana, Barfield and the Midland Community.
