Couser Joins Staff at Local United Way

Lisbeth (Lis) Couser has joined the staff of the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties as the Director of Community Engagement.

Lis serves as a member of the development and engagement team, and is responsible for connecting community members and organizations with United Way through public relations initiatives, strategic engagement opportunities, volunteerism, and successful events and event sponsorship programs.

Lis comes to United Way after having served as the Director of Grants and Strategic Initiatives for Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of the agency's fund development including corporate sponsorship, foundation support, and individual giving. Prior to her role in east Tennessee, Lis served as the Vice President of Marketing Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, where she led the agency's marketing staff and was responsible for advertising, event sponsorships, fundraising, and public relations.

Lis graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications, and holds executive credentials from Vanderbilt University.

Lis will complement our organization well and we look forward to her playing a role in enhancing our development and engagement efforts."
