A Murfreesboro man fell victim to fraud after a Craigslist deal went south. Apparently, the victim traded his 1995 Nissan Maxima for a 2006 Ford Fusion. However, the Ford had a lien on it.

The victim told police the suspect moved forward with trading the car with the victim, telling the victim that he would get the title to him soon. The suspect claimed the title was with his insurance agent because the car had been in a wreck.

Thinking all would work out, the victim handed over his Nissan title and took possession of the newly traded Ford Fusion. It was later learned by the victim that the Ford had an active lien on the title.

As for the Nissan, it has already been registered to the new owner. The former owner told police the suspect also signed his name on the title when it was registered, because it was unsigned when he made the car switch.

At this point, no arrests has been made. The case was labeled as a "Fraud."
