Credit Card Fraud Strikes Murfreesboro and Smyrna

            Identities of two men are sought by detectives after they stole credit cards and used the cards last month at Murfreesboro and Smyrna businesses, investigators said.

            The suspects spoke to one victim before stealing her credit cards from her car parked Sept. 9 at the Stones River Greenway near the Stones River Battlefield, Detective Jerremy Weaver reported. They used the stolen credit cards about 15 minutes later at Walgreen’s located at Medical Center parkway and Thompson Lane . They left in a 1994-97 sage green four-door Honda Accord.

            Walgreen’s employees notified Weaver after the same suspects used an unknown victim’s credit cards Sept. 16 at the same Walgreen’s.

            In a related case, Smyrna Police Detective Allan Nabours said the suspects allegedly tried to buy two $100 gift cards and electronic equipment on stolen credit cards Sept. 15 from Target off Sam Ridley Parkway in Smyrna . The credit cards were stolen in Nashville .

            They left in a silver BMW convertible with a black rack top, Nabours said.

            People who have information about the suspects are asked to call the sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division at 904-3038 or Nabours at 267-5434.
