The Murfreesboro Police Department is investigating several complaints of fraudulent credit card charges. Through the course of the investigation, detectives discovered a credit card skimmer inside a fuel pump at the Sudden Service Shell Store #20 at 2181 Old Fort Parkway.

A credit card skimmer is essentially a malicious card reader that captures data off of a card's magnetic strip. They are attached to real payment terminals so they can harvest data from every card that is swiped. The data is stored and retrieved by the thief who then uses the information to clone cards.
