Rutherford County's worldwide folk dance ambassadors, the Cripple Creek Cloggers, have been invited to represent the U.S. in the 4th International Folklore Festival DANCES ABOVE ELBRUS in Kabardino-Balkaria.

The festival is a little over a year way, but according to founder Steve Cates, it will take that long to prepare for such an adventure.

As it stands, the Cripple Creek Cloggers would depart the Nashville International Airport on October 29, 2015 and return there on November 14, 2015.
Cates explained that the group will fly in and out of Moscow, and travel to and from the city of Nalchik by train.
What type documents will we need from the U.S. in order to make this happen?
To enter Russia for any purpose, a U.S. citizen must possess a valid U.S. passport and a bona fide visa issued by a Russian Embassy or Consulate. It is impossible to obtain an entry visa upon arrival, so travelers must apply for their visas well in advance. U.S. citizens who apply for Russian visas in third countries where they do not have permission to stay more than 90 days may face considerable delays in visa processing. Travelers who arrive in Russia without an entry visa will not be permitted to enter the country, and face immediate return to the point of embarkation at their own expense.
