Dangerfield Miss Basketball; Two Other Local Finalists

Blackman's Crystal Dangerfield added another accolade to her already long list. She was named the Class Triple-A Miss Basketball for the second year in a row, following three years as a finalist.

Dangerfield, who was also recently named to the McDonald's All American team signed to play college basketball at Connecticut. She's also a two-time Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year for girls.

Dangerfield was joined in the Triple-A field by Riverdale's Anastasia Hayes. The junior and the rest of her Lady Warrior teammates are playing in this week's Blue Cross Basketball Championships.

MTCS senior Ashlynd Wilkerson was a finalist for the Single-A Miss Basketball. She plans to continue playing basketball on the collegiate level at Freed-Hardeman.

The top girls and boys basketball players in five classifications of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association were honored by being named the winners of the Mr. and Miss Basketball Awards. The awards presentation took place on the floor of Murphy Center on the campus of MTSU on Tuesday.
