Dawbarn Defeats Challengers for Register of Deeds

Steve and Tammy Sandlin

Incumbent Heather Dawbarn defeated two challengers for the GOP nomination for Register of Deeds. She received 45.2% of the vote to Steve Sandlin's 35%. Rusty Dallas came in third with 19.5% of the vote. Sandlin, a 24 year county commissioner in District 9, says deciding not to run for commission was one of the biggest decisions he's had to make...

 

Sandlin, who is only 48, has spent half of his life in public service. He says he looks forward to spending more time with his wife and two children once his term is up in August.
