A man lost his life Saturday (7/5/14) afternoon on nearby Center Hill Lake.

According to reports, the body of a man was recovered about a mile and a half downstream of the Floating Mill Recreation area.

Members of the TWRA, DeKalb County Rescue Squad, and Corps of Engineers began a search for the man around 4:00 p.m. According to media reports, the man was sitting on the back of his personal watercraft, which was attached to a house boat, when he fell off the back of it and never resurfaced.

Divers from Putnam County recovered the body around 7:30 p.m.

His name has not yet been released.

On Old Hickory Lake, a 26-year old died this past weekend. The TWRA says Regen Jewett is the victim who drowned.
