An 18-year old Murfreesboro man snorted Opana and Cocaine and later died. The information was detailed in a Murfreesboro Police Report filed on Black Friday.

Opana, which is also called Oxymorphone, is a strong pain killer that is available by prescription only. When the pill is crushed and inhaled, the effects act much quicker than intended by the pill manufacture, which can be lethal.

The teen, whose name we are not releasing, allegedly snorted at least one of the two drugs prior to going to Walmart with a 22-year old friend. Once at the store he fell asleep and his older friend left him in the car. When his friend returned from shopping, the 18-year old was unresponsive. At that point, the friend of the teen drove him to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The case is under investigation.
