DEEP FREEZE: Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Rutherford County, in anticipation of 1-to-3 inches of snow here, possibly as much as 4-inches. Temperatures will also plummet from the upper 40's to a low of 5-degrees and wind chills well below zero. This will cause a flash freeze of rain with snow on top. Travel will become hazardous quickly Sunday evening.

WEATHER STATEMENT FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE:
...Winter Weather Advisory in effect from noon Sunday to midnight CST Sunday night...

The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from noon Sunday to midnight CST Sunday night.

* Timing... Sunday afternoon and evening.

* Main impact... 1 to 3 inches of snow will create hazardous travel conditions. Localized amounts up to 4 inches are possible north of I 40.

* Other impacts... frigid conditions with temperatures in the single digits and wind chills as cold as 10 below zero.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
