Department of Children Services told to release more information about children deaths in the state

The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services has been ordered by a Nashville judge to release more information about the deaths or near deaths of children whose care giver was under DCS investigation. The announcement was made by Judge Carol McCoy on Wednesday afternoon in Davidson County. According to the information WGNS received on Wednesday, DCS must release the information if a child is killed or nearly killed in a case that was previously reported as abuse or neglect.

The department will have ten days to redact confidential information before the documents are released to the media or the public.
