Destroyed mailboxes on St. Andrews Drive: is it a result of vandalism, texting, drunk driving, or what? Neighbors are frustrated and want it to end. Motorists destroying mailboxes and then driving away continues to be a problem on St. Andrews Drive. Frustrated neighbors don't know where to turn.

This is a federal crime, since the United State Postal Service is involved. However, residents in the area are wondering if there is anyone who can stop this.

Resident James Sweet sent WGNS News a photo of the most recent crime. In his e-mail, he commented, "Here is a typical (yes typical!) scene on St. Andrews Drive. in Murfreesboro, TN. Apparently there are many divers in this area that are texting while driving or just not paying attention. Suggestion...maybe we should start placing rubber mailboxes on this street. That would surely make the insurance companies happy anyway!"

In the meantime, those who have mailboxes still in place are wondering if they are next, and those who replaced destroyed structures are wondering how long it will last?
