Detention Officer Accused of Punching Name Calling Motorist

Six stitches later and a Sheriff’s Department detention officer is under investigation for allegedly punching a man while at a gas station. The incident reportedly happened at the Swifty Gas Station in Murfreesboro. Evidently, another motorist at the gas station cursed at Officer Alex Maynard and called him fat. Having enough from the motorist, Maynard allegedly punched the name caller in the mouth. The man who was punched had to be taken to the hospital for stitches. No charges were filed at the scene, but the so called victim was informed how to file charges later.
