Before throwing out this season’s Christmas greenery, consider recycling it back to nature. Live Christmas trees and live garland can be dropped-off at clearly-marked, designated areas in Cannonsburgh, located at 312 S. Front St., until Saturday, January 18th.

The Murfreesboro Public Works facility, located at 4765 Florence Rd., is also accepting live Christmas trees and garland on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 6:00 am - 3:55 pm, excluding holidays.

The Solid Waste Department will be picking up live Christmas trees and garland from Murfreesboro residences with their normal brush pickup routes, generally every 14-21 days.

All trees and garland will be chipped by the Urban Environmental or Solid Waste Departments and used as mulch.  Please remember to remove all ornaments, tinsel, lighting, wire, tree stands, plastic wrapping, and tinsel.  Flocked trees will not be accepted.

Please call Solid Waste at 615-893-3681 for more information.
