The November 4th Shop and Stroll on the Square in Downtown Murfreesboro follows the recent highly successful Wine Around the Square event endorsed by Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation. Participating downtown retail businesses will be open during the Shop and Stroll from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M.

The Country Gourmet's annual ornament premier party starts the Friday night Shop and Stroll at 5:00 P.M. with the debut of the 2016 Murfreesboro ornament. Retailers participating in the Shop and Stroll are all located on or around the Square in Historic Downtown Murfreesboro, and make it easy to stroll along from one business to another. As you make your list and check it twice, you'll find great gift ideas Downtown for everyone on your list at these shops: Bella's Boutique, Daffodilly Design, Forrest York Guitars, FunTiques, Let's Make Wine, Terri Leigh's, The Country Gourmet, The Crazy Kukla Boutique, The Write Impression, and Trendy Pieces. "The downtown business community plays host to a number of special events throughout the year including Main Street's Jazz Fest, Friday Night Live concert series, and the Saturday Market. Shop and Stroll on the Square will be yet another great reason for the community to come Downtown." says Barbara Wall, owner of FunTiques Consignment.

On November 26th, American Express will present Small Business Saturday, to celebrate the Shop Small movement encouraging shoppers to patronize local merchants. Then on Friday, December 2nd the official Rutherford County Christmas Tree will be revealed as part of the Celebrate Christmas Downtown festivities starting at 6 P.M. Nashville's WTVF Channel 5 Meteorologist, Bree Smith, will serve as emcee for the evening's festivities that includes special music and entertainment. Celebrate Christmas Downtown would not be complete without a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. The jolly fella himself and Mrs. Claus will be available for photographs after the lighting of the County's Christmas tree and on select Friday nights and Saturdays during December.
