“Dr. King brings a tremendous amount of experience as a leader in a highly effective school, which will be an asset for Homer Pittard Campus School,” Director Odom said.

King holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee State University. She has served as an assistant principal at Rock Springs since 2009. She previously served as an assistant principal at Cedar Grove Elementary School and as a teacher at Stewartsboro Elementary School and John Colemon Elementary School.

“I consider it an honor and privilege to become a part of the Homer Pittard Campus School family,” King said. “I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to building a partnership with the staff, students, parents, and university as we strive together to continue the tradition of excellence that has long been the reputation of HPC.”

King will begin immediately in her new role and a new assistant principal at Rock Springs will be named later in the summer.

King succeeds Dr. Chontel Bridgeman, who was recently reassigned as an assistant principal serving both Barfield Elementary School and Blackman Elementary School.
