Forced to drive through the downtown Murfreesboro area at gunpoint is what a local couple alleged on September 4, 2015 when they spoke to police.
The couple reported that they were in the area of North Highland Avenue near the site of the old hospital when two men jumped into their vehicles' rear driver's side door while stopped. The two men then demanded money.
The female who was with her husband quickly handed the subjects her purse while her husband handed over his empty wallet. That was when one of the two men reportedly held a gun to the head of the husband telling him to drive towards the square. The two men later told the victims to stop the car where they jumped out near Castle Street. The subjects left on foot.
The only valuables the duo got away with was a government issued EBT card, a driver's license and a debit card.
Detectives have since taken over the investigation. The case has been labeled as an "Aggravated Kidnapping" and "Aggravated Robbery."
