Eagleville Teacher Suspended

Rutherford County Schools has suspended an elementary teacher at Eagleville School pending the outcome of a criminal investigation by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.

Teacher Jessica Holland has been charged with theft under $500 and possession of a Schedule II narcotic after being accused of taking prescription medication from the nurse's office at the school. The suspension without pay is effective immediately.

Holland has been an employee with the district since 2014 and does not have any prior disciplinary occurrences with the school district.

Because there is an ongoing criminal investigation, the school district cannot release any additional information or provide additional comments at this time. All further media inquiries should be directed to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.

Released on $4,000 bond.
