Early voting for the City election is March 26 – April 10 and Election Day is April 15.

There are two candidates running for City Mayor. They are Shane McFarland and Ron Washington.

There are eight candidates running for three seats on the City Council. They are Axl David, Madelyn Scales Harris, Candy Roberts Joyce, Rick LaLance, Brian Patterson, Jeff Rainwater, Stephen A. Shirley, and Doug Young.

There are seven candidates running for three seats on the City School Board. They are Wesley Ballard, Kevin N. Fisher, Geoffrey Robert Burns Herring, Phil King, Novonda Lilly, Nancy Rainier, and Collier Smith.

Also on the ballot is a Referendum asking whether or not to change the date of municipal elections to coincide with the date of the August general elections beginning in August 2016. 

The issue of wine being sold in grocery stores will likely appear on a ballot later this year, but not this time around. It was signed into law too soon.
