An elderly female died in a mobile home fire on North Tennessee Boulevard around 1:30 Saturday afternoon. At this time, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department is waiting to release her identity until the next of kin can be notified.

MFRD’s District 8, Engine 1, Engine 4, and Rescue 7 discovered heavy smoke and flames upon arrival to the mobile home. “Crews did a fantastic job extinguishing the fire quickly,” said Shift Commander Daryl Alexander.

MFRD’s Fire Marshals’ Office and Murfreesboro Police Department are conducting a routine investigation.
