A Murfreesboro Police Arrest Report shows that 36-Year old Michael Heaverin allegedly stated to police that he came home from a local bar and got angry with the family dog. The report then states that he hit his elderly grandfather in the head, knocked him to the floor and then stomped him several times.

The grandfather was taken from St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro to Vanderbilt where he had to undergo surgery on Thursday. The victim suffered from a collapsed lung, radial head fracture, broken ribs and a broken elbow, according to the report WGNS obtained on Friday.

The Ark Lane suspect was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center without a bond due to an existing attachment order. In a report filed by MPD Detective Tommy Roberts, more charges could be filed. At this point Heaverin faces charges for Elder Abuse and Aggravated Assault.
