Fake Bondsman Strikes Again

The fake bail bondsman has struck again, now for a third time in a row. This time the scam involved a Hispanic family that had a loved one behind bars in Coffee County. The victim told officers through a translator that they received a call from a man claiming to be with an attorney’s office. The culprit then told the family that he needed $1,040 to bond their relative out of jail.  The family met with the subject at Kwik Sak on Broad Street where they say they gave the man cash. After giving the man the money they headed to Coffee County to get their loved one out of jail. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department told them that their family member could not be bonded out because he was serving a sentence. The family is now out $1,040.
