Family Support Program Funding Receives Thumbs Up from Gov. Haslam

A funding hurdle has been cleared for the Family Support Program. It's funded by the state and designed to assist individuals with severe disabilities and their families to remain together in their homes and communities. Jo Ver Mulm, who facilitates the program here in Rutherford County, says they will help at least 240 people this year...

When Ver Mulm was on WGNS last month, she shared funding by the state was in question. This week, Governor Haslam put it in his budget. She says his budget still has to be passed by the General Assembly but feels like being in the governor's proposal will keep the program funded another year.
