Farmer's Market Open for the Season

The local farmer's market opened for the season Friday morning, and the Lane Agri-Park welcomed local farmers who offered a variety of produce including one of the best crops of strawberries in many years. 

The WGNS Action Line radio broadcast was "live" from the market (look under Podcast, and then Action Line to hear the radio show).

Market Manager Janie Becker told WGNS, "For the first few times, we will not be able to take credit cards or EBT cards. This is while we are changing our system from MTSU to a county operated financial arrangement." 

The farmer's market is open on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 7:00 o'clock until noon, and there is a free educational class taught a 9:00AM every Friday. 

The Lane Agri-Park is at 315 John R. Rice Boulevard, that's just down from Sam's Club and next to PAWS (Rutherford County Pet Adoption Welfare Service). It will continue through the end of October.
