The Murfreesboro Police Fatal Accident Crash Team investigated a crash over the weekend. It occurred Saturday morning at 6:08 when a taxi cab was stopped at the entrance Thortons gas station on Medical Center Pkwy. Another vehicle traveling on Medical Center Pkwy left the roadway and struck the stopped cab in the driver's side, killing the driver of the cab. 

The deceased is identified as 38-year old Geoffriau Powell.

The driver believed to be at fault is 25-year old Evan Childress.  He has been arrested and charged with DUI for the third time, driving on a revoked license and Vehicular Homicide.  Childress, of Milbrook Road of Brentwood, was booked into the local jail under a 60-thousand dollar bond. He was released from jail after making bond several hours after his arrest.
