On Wednesday (7/18/2012) U. S. District Chief Judge Todd Campbell issued a temporary restraining order that allows members of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro to occupy their new mosque by sundown this coming Thursday, which is the beginning of Ramadan. That facility is located at the corner of Veals Road and Bradyville Pike in Murfreesboro.

This comes after Imam Ossama Bahloul along with the United States Department of Justice filed their request in the federal courts. It also includes a lawsuit against Rutherford County that requests an unspecified amount money for damages and court costs.

As you recall, Chancellor Judge Robert Corlew earlier ruled that Rutherford County did not properly issue public notices when the local Islamic members reqested a building permit. In addition, Judge Corlew recently ordered that an occupancy permit be withheld.

Islamic Center of Murfreesboro leaders requested the final inspection and certificate of occupancy this past Monday (7/16/2012), but Rutherford County denied that request saying it would be against Chancellor Corlew's ruling.

Again, U. S. District Chief Judge Todd Campbell has issued a temporary restraining order that allows members of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro to occupy their new mosque for Ramadan.
