A Murfreesboro woman who allegedly called 9-1-1 at least five times in the past couple of weeks asking for police to bring her husband home has been arrested. Officers went to the South Church Street motel room of Maggie Elizabeth Murphy after she once again dialed 9-1-1 asking police to pick up her husband at the nearby Waffle House. When Murphy allegedly made a similar request in the past, officers actually went to the restaurant in search of the hubby, but he was nowhere to be found.

On the most recent visit with Murphy police wrote in a report, “Upon arrival I knocked on the door and she immediately began screaming and cursing for me to leave.”  After police explained to Murphy that calling 9-1-1 to pick her husband up was not an emergency, she was arrested for the unlawful use of 9-1-1, but not without a fight. The report WGNS obtained on Thursday shows that Murphy had to be physically pulled from the room and put into the patrol car. As a result of the struggle, the 21-year old woman was also charged with resisting arrest.

Murphy will appear in court on October 28th. At this point, she remains jailed under a $2,000 bond.
