Fight over electric bill in Cannon County results in warrant

A daughter who threw a huge rock at her mother in an argument over refusal to pay an electric bill sparked charges of domestic assault and vandalism last week in nearby Cannon County.

According to police reports, on February 5th Cannon County Sheriff's Sgt Steve McMillen responded to a report of domestic violence that had already occurred and involved vandalism.  Sgt. McMillen spoke with complainant Jean Mayo who reported that she owned a residence on Gassaway Main Street where her daughter Judy Hickey was currently staying.  Ms. Mayo said the electricity and water bills were in her name.

Mayo approached Hickey about paying the electric bill to which  Hickey refused to do so.  . Mayo then went and had the electricity cut off. This in turn upset Hickey. Hickey then went to another Gassaway Main Street residence where Mayo resided and as Mayo was standing inside the back door with the screen door shut,  Hickey took a fairly large rock and threw it at Ms. Mayo.  The rock missed hitting Mayo but hit the corner of the house causing damage to some vinyl siding on the house.  Warrants were taken out on Hickey
