Fire in DeKalb County leaves a family homeless

A fire Thursday morning in DeKalb County has left a family homeless.

David Agee, Assistant County Fire Chief, told partner station WJLE that the fire occurred at a residence belonging to Patricia Fletcher at 5920 McMinnville Highway. Firefighters arrived on the scene and found the home fully engulfed in flames. They were unable to save the structure and all the family's belongings were lost.

Members of the Keltonburg, Blue Springs, and Short Mountain Highway Stations of the DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Department responded along with the tanker and equipment trucks.
