Firefighters Fought Blaze At Firehouse

Volunteers left the Southeast Rutherford Fire Department on Elam Road Thursday night after completing training, and received a call around 10:00 o'clock about smoke coming from the firehouse. First responders reported seeing flames and heavy smoke. 

They quickly returned to the facility and pulled the firetrucks out of the building.

Fire Chief Larry Farley noted that strange things had been happening there for awhile; like showing-up and finding the big doors wide open.

Investigators are trying to determine what started the fire Thursday night (5/31/2012) at the Southeast Rutherford Fire Department on Elam Road.
