Murfreesboro officials were watching radar closely, and knew when they needed to start the fireworks display at McKnight Park.
Spectators were in parking lots in a large circle around SportsCom, and many enjoyed a picnic with tailgating tents and more.
Inside McKnight Park, the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department offered a full-schedule of family fun starting at 10:00 o'clock Independence Day morning with the Rock The Pool Party in the 'Boro Beach and wrapping-up with the Murfreesboro Symphony and a spectacular fireworks display.
And right on cue, as the last firework flashed--the bottom dropped out and a deluge with high winds and lightning swept the area.
Great timing City of Murfreesboro--fun was had by all!
