Sheriff Robert Arnold said Rutherford County is fifth in Tennessee for the number of teen crashes.

The sheriff commented, “Any efforts we can make to stop teens from drinking and driving can save lives. We are proud of SRO Urban and other SROs who are trying to prevent teen crashes and fatalities through education and enforcement.”

David Lee noted, “Jason’s ongoing efforts to prevent underage drinking and driving at the school level is paramount in protecting the community and our youth. SRO Urban is very deserving of this month’s honors and all the employees of Ford of Murfreesboro really appreciate his fantastic work and dedication.”

SRO Urban conducted several awareness activities for the prom season including “Don’t Drink and Drive” and “Project Graduation,” said SRO Capt. Barry Hendrixson. He coordinated undercover alcohol buys, distributed alcohol awareness brochures to merchants and provided extra patrols during high school proms in Rutherford County.

“SRO Urban went above and beyond to attempt to cut down on alcohol-related incidents,” Capt. Hendrixson said. “His primary focus was aimed at high school students.”
