Four familiar voices to listeners of NewsRadio WGNS have been honored. Station owner Bart Walker and Dick Palmer of the Blue Raider Network have been nominated for consideration in the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame. Both have been nominated in the career category along with about 20 others from across the state. That list of nominees will now be narrowed to the six finalists who will actually be inducted into the state organization.

In addition, two local voices you hear daily on NewsRadio WGNS have been honored as inductees in the 2015 class for the National Radio Hall of Fame. The mid-state's own Dave Ramsey is part of this year's class. He's built a successful network syndication and is the third most popular radio host in the country. Clark Howard, who has been a part of the NewsRadio WGNS family for well over a decade is also an inductee to the National Radio Hall of Fame. Based out of Atlanta, he's built a very loyal following not only across the country but here in Rutherford County.

NewsRadio WGNS Operations Manager Bryan Barrett says...

"It's a great honor for Bart and Dick to be nominated for the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame and to have two of our syndicated hosts also be honored
nationally. I think it's a testimate to the kind of programming we strive to bring the listeners of the radio station."

The list of nominees for the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame will be voted on and narrowed between now and the induction ceremony in May of 2016. The induction ceremony for Ramsey and Howard will be held November 5th in Chicago.
