FRAUD? Woman Deposits $2,250 Check That Turns Out to be Fake

More online job fraud news… A 24-year old Murfreesboro woman who signed up for a job online told police she received a $2,250 check in the mail with instructions to keep $250 and send $2,000 to a subject in California. The victim deposited the money and sent a portion of the check to a man by the name of Don Lagada on the West Coast. Shortly after sending the money, she was notified by her bank that the check she deposited into her account was a fake.

The female is now required to pay the bank the $2,250 that is now missing. At this point, no arrests have been made.
