Early morning storm slams Rutherford County, especially the northern parts. Places like La Vergne, Smyrna, Walter Hill and Lascassas all saw damage.

Heavy roof damage is reported in the La Vergne area. In fact, the roof of one business was partially removed and huge commercial-size garage door were ripped from the structure.

Power outages were sporadic throughout the area, but hardest hit with "no electricity" seems to have been the Walter Hill community.

Trees and power lines are down in La Vergne, Smyrna and Walter Hill. Tune to WGNS for "live" updates from those locations.
