Middle Tennessee Christian School was closed on Tuesday as a freshman student was laid to rest. Friends and family of Paul Thomas Batey said their final goodbye's as they met at North Boulevard Church of Christ and then took the slow ride to a small cemetery in Milton, Tennessee around noon on Tuesday.

Batey, who played football at MTCS, was baptized by his father in the Jordan River just a few months before his death. The Jordan River is where Jesus was said to be baptized by John the Baptist.
