Gas prices moved slightly lower last week and are now more than 20 cents less than they were this time last year. In Murfreesboro some discounters dropped the price of regular gas 3-cents compared to the previous week.

Slow economic growth across the globe has curbed the oil rally and helped fuel prices move lower. According to the government, US manufacturing fell to its lowest level in six months. Consumer sentiment also decreased according to a Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan report.

"The good news is gas prices are stable and there is nothing, at this moment, that shows signs of a spike in price,” said Jessica Brady, AAA spokesperson, The Auto Club Group. “Pump prices are likely to inch lower again this week.”

The national average for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline is $3.28, 1-cent less than last week. Florida's average of $3.33 and Georgia’s average of $3.19 both fell 2 cents from last week. Tennessee’s average of $3.08 dropped 1-cent from last week. Some 'Boro discounters dropped regular gas 3-cents to $2.96 per gallon.
