Although pump prices didn’t fluctuate much last week, oil prices did. A barrel of oil rose to $99.32 after reports showed larger than expected economic growth in the third quarter. We’re approaching the New Year rally, which means motorists could see gas prices pop in the first few weeks of 2014.

"Gas prices will likely remain relatively stable until the new year,” said Jessica Brady, AAA spokesperson, The Auto Club Group. "The stability may not last long. Oil prices recently jumped on a growing U.S. economy and it’s likely pump prices will rise after the first of the year on optimism fuel demand will increase in 2014.”

The national average for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline is $3.24, 1-cent more than last week. Florida's average of $3.36 fell 3 cents from last week. Georgia’s average of $3.18 fell a cent, while Tennessee's average of $3.06 dropped 2 cents from last week. Here in the 'Boro, gas has dropped 6-cents from last week and is now $2.93 per gallon.
