Yates Services is hosting a job fair for Nissan’s Vehicle Assembly and Electric Vehicle Battery Plant manufacturing facilities in Smyrna and the Powertrain Assembly Plant in Decherd, Tennessee. The fair will be on Saturday, June 1, 8:00 a.m. – noon (CST) at the Tennessee Career Center at Murfreesboro on 1313 Old Fort Parkway, Murfreesboro, and at the Middle Tennessee Education Center on 200 Dover Street, Shelbyville. The company is recruiting to fill long-term, full-time off shift contractor positions.

 
Yates Services is hiring for nights, afternoons, weekends, and rotating shifts for the following jobs:

• Assembly/Production — $15.25 progressing to $19.25 off shift
• Material Handling — forklift experience required; $13.25 progressing to $15.75 off shift
• Industrial Maintenance — graduate and have a diploma through an industrial maintenance course; off shift starting pay rate $19.00 progressing to $28.94
• Tool and Die Maker — experience required (welding, CNC, hand grinding)
• Warehouse/Production Support — off shift starting pay rate $12.00 progressing to $13.25

 

Consideration for conversion from a Yates employee to a Nissan employee is available after two years of continuous service as a Main Line Production Associate. The jobs will start out at a minimum of $15.25 per hour but will increase to $19.25 per hour off shift. Benefits include 14 paid holidays and up to 80 hours of paid vacation. Educational assistance is offered after two years of continuous service as a main line production/maintenance associate. A full benefits package is offered that includes Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans, dental, vision, life insurance, and AD&D after 90 days. In addition, 401(k) plan participation is available after the first full year of service.

To qualify for positions applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and must speak, read and write fluent English. Qualified applicants must have a verifiable stable work history and/or verifiable high school attendance record. Any manufacturing experience is a plus. Nissan is a drug-free/tobacco free workplace. In addition, Yates Services conducts thorough background checks on all applicants.
