Murfreesboro attorney Guy Dotson, Jr. remains in critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center after a pistol that he was cleaning discharged on Thursday night at his home.

As reported earlier on WGNS,  an official police incident report shows that the bullet entered Doton's lower right abdomen and exited through his back. The accident occurred around 10:00 o'clock Thursday night (12/27/2012) at his home on 1504 Monticello Court here in Murfreesboro.

Dotson grew-up here in Murfreesboro and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1985. He received his law degree from Memphis State University in 1987.

He is very involved in the community, and has served as the city attorney for Eagleville, and has served as the municipal judge for City of La Vergne since 1994. His legal practice includes criminal defense, divorce and family law, as well as personal injury cases.
