Christmas shopping creates heavy traffic as well as numerous crashes. This one around 6:30 Saturday night (12/17/2001)at the intersection of Thompson Lane and Medical Center Parkway. A light blue pickup truck and black SUV (photo below) both attempted to occupy the same space, and ended in slight injury along with a monumental traffic jam. There was much oil spilled on the intersection that had to be cleaned before opening the area to other motorists.
Murfreesboro Police encourage the public to give yourself plenty of time to get from one location to another. More people are traveling, and there is a greater chance for traffic tie-ups, frustration and people trying hurry and make-up lost time.
