Heavy Fire Damage Friday Night To Northwoods Home

A home in the Northwoods subdivision suffered heavy damage with a fire around 8:45 Friday night (12/9/2011). Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer Allen Swader told WGNS News that the first unit was  at 2231 Tanglewood Trail in less than 3-minutes. 

Assistant Chief Swader said, "A couple had logs blazing in their fireplace when creosote in the chimney apparently ignited the attic." He described the home as having "major strucdtural damage". 

Units from the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue ladder company number 6 on Memorial Boulevard, beside SportsCom responded; along with ladder 6 on Pitts Lane; Engine Company 4 on Jones Boulevard; and Rescue 8 from Pitts Lane.
